Winemaker Notes: The IMPLICIT CELLARS 2019 PRIVITY displays a deep purple-red color with a black core. Fresh aromatics of blueberries, blackberry pie, crushed rock, anise, coffee-laden mineral accents, vanilla and a lifting waft of sage fill the glass. On the palate, the layered, rich essence of the wine is on full display, with deeply powerful cherry, chocolate, and exotic spice notes in full concert. The finish is long and supple, with abundant very fine tannins providing shape and length without ever getting in the way of the purity of fruit. ~ Michael Hirby
February 2019 brought heavy rains, but because the vines were in their winter dormancy it did not affect the 2019 crop. Spring continued to be wet with some rain during flowering, and cooler-than-normal temperatures slowed down some of the fruit growth—our 2019 harvest started two weeks later than in prior years. But the summer growing season was near perfect for winegrapes, producing outstanding fruit. Flavors were ahead of sugars, acidity was moderate and color and tannins looked excellent.
